In melee combat iirc both have 3 attacks to learn moder has R/L arm swipe, bite, and ice breath and yagluth has fire beam, hand slam, and meteor with the telegraph for all of them being easy to notice and reaction time reasonable. I think both ranged attacks for yagluth and moder are similar difficulty to recognize and hide/dodge from so time to kill would be the only difference in the "difficulty" of these strategies so moder is easier. ![]() Ranged only yagluth would take longer than ranged only moder. However yagluth almost forces melee combat since even with the most optimal arrows there is still resistances to deal with. Moder on the ground sometimes doesn't move and if it does running from it while hitting it with arrows is similar to elder Similarly to elder you never have to engage moder in melee combat since the airborne ice rain attack can be blocked with a pillar.Īlthough the area doesn't come with a natural pillar unlike the elder and yagluth fights a single dodge roll should make it so the ice rain doesnt hit. So that would still make bonemass one of the harder bosses.īut with pillars moder also becomes just as simple as elder. I don't expect new players to instantly recognize how to cheese a boss so i wouldn't really consider that when rating the difficulty of bosses. In the game files "Moder" is known as "dragonqueen".Ah okay i knew it was some sort of mountain arrow my bad.Moder shares a name with the jötunn daughter of Loki in Adam Nevill's 2011 British novel The Ritual and its 2017 film adaptation of the same name."Móðr" translates to "anger, grief" in Old Norse."Moder" translates to "Mother" in Nordic languages.Once summoned Moder's aura will pause or stop ongoing snowstorms.Moder is a dragon having the typical appearance of a Wyvern, this is apparent due to both the eggs being dragon eggs, and her tears being Dragon tears.Enables: "The horde is attacking" (if Yagluth hasn't been defeated).Disables: "A cold wind blows from the mountains".It deals up to 200 Frost, 200 Chop and 200 Pickaxe damage.ĭefeating Moder affects the following events for that world: While grounded, she can let forth a blizzard-like blast of breath which is cone-shaped and reaching medium range. While grounded, she can perform a swipe attack with either claw or a bite, all of which does up to 110 Slash, 1000 Chop and 1000 Pickaxe damage The crystals will fall apart around 30 seconds later. Upon impact with the ground, a crystal forms about as tall as the player. Each projectile deals 30 Pierce, 200 Frost, 200 Chop and 200 Pickaxe damage. When airborne she will fire a barrage of ice projectiles with some inaccuracy (cone shape-like). She is accompanied by an environmental aura that forces Freezing Effect even in other biomes. Moder has the ability to fly but will also choose to land, alternating between the two. Like all bosses, Moder can be summoned as many times as desired, provided the required materials are met.Ĭonsidering the extensive weight of Dragon eggs (200), purchasing and wearing a Megingjord from Haldor will help as it increases one's carry weight by 150. She is summoned by placing 3 Dragon egg in her Forsaken altar in the Mountains. Her location can be found when visiting specific ruined structures, typically at the top, where a Vegvisir will reveal her nearest summoning location on the map. Moder's Forsaken altar is located in the Mountains.
